The Evian Conference and the Refugee Crisis: 85 Years Later (Virtual) In-Person

Event held in cooperation with The Harriet and Kenneth Kupferberg Holocaust Center, Queensborough Community College (CUNY).

In 1938, international diplomats and relief organizations gathered in Evian-les-Bain, France to discuss the growing crisis of German and Austrian Jewish refugees fleeing persecution in Nazi Germany. Join us for a special presentation about the significance of the Evian Conference's 85th anniversary and its contemporary implications featuring Dr. Diane Afoumado, Chief of the Holocaust Survivors and Victims Resource Center at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM)

Visitors for in-person events may see the exhibit for one hour following the conclusion of the event. To see the exhibit, visitors will enter at the City Tech Community Service Center, 287 Jay Street, and go through a security check in. Visitors must show ID. No bags are allowed. No food or drinks in the exhibit space..
