Introduction to Wikimedia Commons [online] In-Person

Join Jen Hoyer from City Tech Library on Thursday, November 13th at 1pm for a 30 minute introduction to Wikimedia Commons, the internet’s best image repository.

In our 30 minutes together we’ll discuss questions like: 

  • What is Wikimedia Commons? 
  • How can images from Wikimedia Commons be used for teaching or in student assignments? 
  • How can individuals contribute to Wikimedia Commons?

We’ll practice searching Wikimedia Commons, explore the types of content available, look at various rights policies and usage licenses on images, and learn about fun initiatives and contests for contributing images to Wikimedia Commons.

This workshop is taking place online and will not be recorded. If you can’t attend, keep an eye out for future offerings of this same workshop.
